America 250

Happy Birthday to the United States of America !

It’s easy to take the things you have for granted. A human trait we all experience due to familiarity and just being mostly comfortable. Fortunately, I was able to travel quite a bit in my younger years. Spent three years in Spain and another three in Germany later on. Always liked adventure and visited most of the countries in Europe. Did Africa a few times, Japan, South Korea and many others I won’t bore you with.

My perspective on the state of our country is most likely different than say someone who has never been out of their state. I enjoyed all the countries I’ve seen, but as I say in my song “Rectangle Screen” some of them may have been oversold.

There are a lot of reasons to celebrate what we enjoy here in the States and I’m glad to be a citizen. Of course we have our problems but all countries do. I try to focus in on the positive aspects and good things that directly impact my quality of life.

Coal Creek Country Store (pictured above) is one of our shopping places. They carry all kinds of real food items like farm fresh eggs and Amish rolled butter. Just down the road is Prime 41 where we can get clean local beef, pork and chicken. Along the 15 minute drive to get there you will pass a number of vegetable stands with an honor pay system. If you don’t know, that’s a box to put your money in.

I don’t recall ever seeing that in any other place I’ve been.

There is so much here to be grateful for and I believe we are headed in the right direction. A happy 250 to you and let’s try to be more respectful to each other and to the country.

God Bless
